Bathsheba's marriage to King David was not a marriage made in heaven, but through the forgiveness and mercy offered by God to contrite sinners, it turns into one. "Can love triump over treachery?" the book asks. Human love, no.
The writing at times reads juvenile, but the appeal for mercy by Bathsheba and David is genuinely mature.
