Shermans Creek: a Redneck Murder Mystery by Ronald A Hopkins
The heinous crimes that take place in this mystery in our beloved Perry County are more likely to have happened at a school board meeting than in a township building. FBI agent Jim Slade meets the right people at the right time and disses the right folks in like manner in his laborious efforts to solve the puzzle of mysteriously disposed rednecks.
The pieces fit together smoothly, too smoothly. Characters appear precisely on cue to bring about the predictable solution to this entertaining farce of heaven-on-earth in our bucolic haven.

I couldn't help thinking as I read this book that the characters were very familiar...the characters in the book were just like, too much like, some of the people who live here.
