Gideon Crew novels Empty Gideon Crew novels

Just finished the second novel in the Gideon Crew series by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. I greatly enjoy their Pendergast series and find the Gideon Crew books a little less intense than Pendergast. When I pick up a Pendergast novel, I know I need to have time to finish it because even if I put it down, I am thinking of the storyline and anticipating what will happen next. The Gideon Crew books are enjoyable but I was able to do other things in my life than just concentrate on the novel. Unfortunately, the writers have given Gideon a fatal condition and he is only to live about a year. I wonder how many adventures (novels) they will be able to accomplish before they have to give him up. The writing team of Preston and Child tend to have many plot twists and fantastic story lines but are able to explain whatever happens in a logical way.

Gideon Crew novels Empty Gideon's Sword

I just finished Gideon's Sword and must wait to start Gedeon's Corpse, but reluctantly! (A friend just handed me a 3-book series that I will have to read first!) However, I'm happy to know that Preston & Child have another series I can escape into. These guys are right up there with James Patterson, what do you think?
