The lovely folks of Happy Valley in State College, Pennsylvania, delighted in worshipping head coach Joe Paterno and members of his staff, especially Jerry Sandusky. And worship they did, until every member of the phenomenon that was Penn State football, thought they could do no wrong and would never be held accountable for any aberrant behavior, no matter how perverse.
This is the courageous story of victim #1, a young, gifted athlete from Lock Haven, Aaron Fisher, who like many before and after him, got sucked into the horror that was the Second Mile, the hotbed of depravity built to feed the insatiable lust of iconic Sandusky.
Michael Gillum is the counselor at the local Children and Youth, who suffers nearly the emotional and psychological stress the victim does while he drives the investigation, and Dawn, Aaron's single mom, who supports her son with her unconditional love.
Gillum is correct when he makes the assertion that those who lure young folks into sexual encounters are murdering the soul of the victim.
